How many times have you ended up taking far too much clothes on holiday but only wearing half of what you’ve packed? No matter how exciting it is to go on holiday, nothing can cause more stress than packing for a holiday.
Always remember when packing for a holiday – less is good, and only pack the clothes that you really love to wear, and if in doubt – leave it at home. Try to make everything you pack work with everything else. If you going for a beach holiday, pick your swimwear and try to work all your clothes around them. Buy pieces that have a dual purpose such as mix and match bikinis.
A very good tip is to decide on a colour theme, say with about 3 colours including black and white. This makes it so much easier for you to mix and match your clothes to create totally different outfits every time.
Make sure that you take scarves and jewellery in an assortment of styles and colours – these items occupies less space in your bag than extra clothes and they can be used to alter any basic look taking it from day to night in a few seconds.
A small list as to what to pack for a two-week beach holiday:
- A Smart dress
- Plain dress that can be dressed up with jewellery
- Beach cover ups such as a sarong or 2
- Day-time shorts – 2
- Vest/T-shirts – 2
- Bikini/tankini/swimsuit – 3
- Cropped trousers – 2
- Skirt – 2
- Yeans – 1
- Flat Sandals and Flip Flops
- Beach Bag
- Scarfs – quite few
And a very good tip? When you get back from your holiday and everything is still fresh in your memory, write down what items you have worn most on holiday, and next time, when going on holiday, and you don’t know what to pack? Go back to your list and refresh your mind. Packing will become a lot easier!
